Ocala's Tom Sauer, better known in the mixed martial arts community as Tommy Trauma, has a supernova.

Having lived his entire life with Tourette's Syndrome, a disorder which causes him involuntary physical and verbal tics, Sauer has always had a little extra motivation.

How else could you explain the energy with which the 38-year-old continues to pursue an MMA dream that has seen the kind of distractions and setbacks that would have left most fighters calling it a career. Over the last decade Sauer has battled back from major injuries, balanced training with his job as a city of Ocala firefighter paramedic, built a successful construction business (Sauer and Sons) and raised his four children.
